Apple's Augmented Reality will not be available on all devices

During WWDC2017 we were pleased to have a series of content in Augmented reality from which Apple did not waste a single second to get chest. Honestly, it was one of the most innovative sections of the Keynote that we presented, despite the fact that the iPad has undergone a high-level rejuvenation with the arrival of iOS 11 and its new capabilities, this new augmented reality system could attract a good number of users thanks to their applications.

However, this type of theory also has its dark side, since not all iOS devices will be compatible with ARKit, Apple's Augmented Reality… will yours be compatible? Check it!

The limits will be set once again by the processor, indeed, they will not be compatible with ARKit and the Augmented Reality capabilities (at least naturally) those Apple devices that do not have at least the A8 processor ... of which devices We are talking? Well, in the case of the iPhone, a starting with the iPhone SE and iPhone 6s, which will be able to run Augmented Reality, that is, goodbye to the iPhone 6 in this regard.

In the case of the iPad, the situation is much more decisive, since only devices from the new iPad (to dryness) launched in 2017 will be compatible, as well as the Pro range of the iPad. Namely neither iPad Air 2 nor previously released devices will support Augmented Reality technology that the Cupertino company is preparing for its users. This is how the information that they let us see during Monday's presentation, from the hand of Craig Federighi, the Vice President of Apple, has advanced. Definitely, a stick for backwards compatibility, although we can be understanding, considering that this technology will require a lot of RAM and processing power, and coincidentally it welcomes devices with 2GB of RAM (although the iPad Air 2 also has them).

Unfortunately, it is a typo. ARKit only works with A9 or higher devices (ie iPhone 6S / SE and iPad PRO onwards).
