Apple manufactures the vast majority of its products in China, at this point in the movie I doubt that there is anyone who does not know, in fact it puts it on the back of each of its products: Assembled in China. This relationship with Foxconn, one of the most important manufacturing companies in the country, has brought him some headache in terms of protection of workers' rights, due to the constant irregularities that seem to take place in his plants. Apple has again had problems in China over the Foxconn assembly plants and the way they treat their workers, is the Cupertino company to blame?
The reality is that the China Labor Watch (CLW), has found that Apple and Foxconn employ a significant number of temporary contract workers at their factories. The law in China in theory does not allow more than 10% of the workforce to be hired on a temporary basis, however, in the largest assembly plant that Foxconn has dedicated to the Cupertino company, around 50 % of temporary workers, a figure much higher than the maximum allowed by the law of the Asian giant.
We find that the percentage of temporary workers exceeds our standards. We are working with Foxconn to resolve this issue, corrective action will be taken immediately.
Along these lines, Apple has issued an urgent statement, while Foxconn issued one that essentially said the same thing.
