The absence of AppleCare + in Spain has always been one of those things that have been missed. The option of having your iPhone covered against all possible risks (even more so, taking into account what official repairs cost in the Apple Store) is something very tempting not to have it at hand. Now, This option currently available in many other countries could reach ours with the new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.
As you know, this morning the reservations for the new iPhones were opened, since Spain is (finally) in the first batch of countries that first receive these models. There are several ways to make the reservation, in one of them we have seen a most curious detail when reserving our device, although there is no official confirmation from the company,
Through the Apple reservations website, when reserving our new iPhone 7 model, we saw how in the summary of the order in addition to the terminal you could read "Includes AppleCare +. It is something that we are not allowed to select at any time during the purchase process but, nevertheless, it was there in all cases (except in those made through the Apple Store app, where bank details were requested to manage the device charge).
One might well think that it is an error since, as I said, at no time are we offered an option to select it during the reservation process. However, since it appears only in the reservation option and not in the one in which you had to pay the full terminal, it is likely that What Apple was telling us is that on the 16th, when these iPhones go on sale, AppleCare + will also be there to buy it in the store at the time we acquired our new device). Obviously it is not included in the price, that is why those who gave their bank details to make the payment did not see this addition in their order summary.
But I do not understand, I have always had Apple care in Spain, what difference is there with Apple care +?
