Every year, many are the users who invest money in the Apple application store, either to buy applications or to make use of in-app purchases that offer us both games and applications, although the former they are those that suppose the greater cost by part of the users.
Throughout 2018, according to the data published by Sensor Tower, average spending by American iPhone users rose to $ 79, which represents an increase of 36% compared to the amount Americans invested in 2017 in the App Store, which was 58 dollars.
As I have commented above, most of the spending has gone to the games section, section that represents 56% of the 79 dollars that users have invested on average in the App Store during 2018. Other sections that have seen how user spending has increased compared to the previous year is Entertainment, which has increased user investment by 82% and Lifestyle, whose increase has been 86%.
The sections dedicated to music, social networks and lifestyle, have increased spending by only 22% of the user if we compare it with the data of 2017. The App Store has become an important source of income, within the Services section and every year we see how the income records of the previous year are broken.
In 2019 the App Store reached a new record in a single day, on New Years Day, users spending a whopping $ 322 million. During the Christmas holidays, the App Store raised more than 1.220 million dollars, figures that again exceed those obtained by the Play Store, despite having fewer applications and fewer activated devices around the world.
