Every time they are more photographs we take with our mobile devices, photographs that we take with devices that make us carry a camera in our pocket 24 hours a day. Of course, we must bear in mind that although they are getting better, they cannot be compared with professional cameras. Today we bring you a comparison between two astronomical night photographs of two of the latest devices on the market: the Pixel 4 and iPhone 11 Pro. But which of these two new devices is the best when it comes to taking night photos of stars?

As you can see in the previous tweet, and in the attached images, the photograph taken with the Pixel 4 has more information, that of the iPhone 11 Pro captures the brightness of the stars but the truth is that a lot of information is lost as it is much darker than that of the Pixel 4. Why is the iPhone 11 Pro much darker? Because the Apple device is a photograph with a shutter of 28 seconds (the image was taken thanks to being receiving this luminosity during this time), that of the Pixel 4 instead had a shutter of 3 minutes so the comparison is not entirely real as they are not both on equal footing.
It must be said, both smartphones have amazing cameras, and both are on the same footing in comparison. Which one are we left with? with none ... In the end is to push the cameras to the limit, these are not intended for astronomical photography. A difficult decision is that of the cameras of mobile devices, each time they are more similar, and there are more and more factors that we have to analyze to choose one device or another.
