Will Siri be able to recognize our voice and only activate with it ?: In the very near future

User privacy is on the lips of many and more now. The other day we were talking about recent UK Government attack against companies such as WhatsApp or Apple that protect user information, in relation to the terrorist attack that occurred a few weeks ago. Extrapolating this theme, currently if we activate Siri in our terminal anyone can ask you to perform certain tasks, even if we are not (the owners of the devices). New patents indicate that Apple would be working on a voice detection and verification system in which apple assistant would only respond to the voice of the device owner thus avoiding taking possession of the iPhone or iPad.

Apple patents indicate that Siri could improve your security

As almost always when we talk about Apple patents, the website in charge of analyzing them is Patently Apple based on the publications of the United States Trademark Office. In this case we find a patent in which Siri's security would be above the user's wish.

Explained like this it is a bit strange, but it is very simple. Currently, even with the device locked, anyone outside of us can press the Home button and invoke Siri to ask, request or perform certain actions, without verifying that the person using the device is not unrelated to the owner.

With this new patent, quite ingenious it should be noted, the owner of the device would have to configure an "invocation" phrase that Siri would record. The assistant would store both the phrase and the characteristics of the voice used. An example would be: "Siri, how's everything going?" or "Good morning boss." If the user invokes the assistant and does not say that phrase or, if saying it correctly does not match the characteristics of the owner's voice, Siri would force you to unlock the device using Touch ID or the unlock code.

It is still too early to say that we will see this function but it is likely that in future major updates we will see great security measures on Siri to provide more security to the devices that are used by millions of people every day.
