LG and Samsung to manufacture Apple OLED displays

Delete iPhone

We have been talking for several months about the future screens that Apple wants and must implement in future iPhones, those based on OLED technology that it offersn much more realistic colors than you currently use. The only device currently manufactured by Apple that integrates an OLED screen is currently the Apple Watch, but everything seems to indicate that it will soon change and there will be more devices that will also use it.

Swgun reports ETNews the Cupertino boys they would be about to close an agreement with Samsung and LG so that only both companies are the official suppliers of the signature of the OLED screens of their next devices, especially for the iPhone. This agreement could mean revenues for both companies of about $ 13.000 billion.

So much LG and Samsung would have to substantially increase the production of these types of products in order to meet the supply needs of the iPhone assembly line in the next two years. To reduce investment costs, LG uses one of its current manufacturing plants exclusively for Apple. In order to make manufacturing as easy as possible, Apple could provide some of the technology necessary to mass-manufacture these displays.

The agreement does not establish the start of mass production, but considering that the next iPhone 7 will go into production in a few months to be presented in September, it is most likely that this model will continue to use the LCD screens that Apple It has ruined for the last few years. Apple's plans to use these screens would be during the years 2017 and 2018, once you have been able to solve the technical problems that you are likely to face during the first months of production until everything is ready for mass production without any problems.
