Mplayer multi-format player for jailbreked iphones

This popular multiplatform player has arrived on the iPhone. Ported by skiman100, Mplayer is the perfect player we've been waiting for for the iPhone.

Until now, the only existing multi-format player for the iPhone was the vlc4iPhone but with the arrival of this application, the range of possibilities has expanded. Not only that but also in terms of reproduction it is superior to vlc4iPhone.

Among the formats that it can play we find the following: mpeg4, h.264, wmv, mp3, aac, wma, real media and t-dmb. This application is perfect to combine with download plugins or applications such as Dtunes through which we can download videos from the internet and play them with Mplayer.

The video files will be stored and played from the following path:

/ private / var / media

The application can be downloaded from Cydia.

Screenshots:

During video playback, the controls are located on the right side of the screen (or bottom vertically):

Hello everyone, install the program, and everything is fine but I can't find the route to be able to put the videos and songs in it because the one that says above in the tutorial I don't see it if someone knows how and if they can help me I'll thank them thank you

  3.   Schumy said

You have to create it. Create a folder called media in / private / var and put whatever you want to play there.

Ola the same thing happens to me qua hanoi, I don't even know how to access / private / var, on my pc I have not found that route, I am sorry to be so crippled.

What a joy to be able to directly play an AVI video with XviD and MP3, although the one I tried was a bit slow.

In order to upload the videos, you just have to create a folder / private / var / media as root user. Then it is advisable to give it a mobile owner to be able to copy the videos directly with that user.

That route is accessed via SSH. You will not have the media folder created, so you will have to do it.
About SSH, here is a tutorial on how to enter via SSH to the iPhone and do this:

Well, they go bad for me. Almost as bad as VLC ... come on, it's not worth watching videos there ... apart from the translucent control bar on one side. Ke takes away half a screen.

    Good night!
I have installed and reinstalled it and the program does not start. Does somebody knows why it could be? (I have already restarted the iphone, I have even given it 775 permissions in case it was that)
    Thank you!

Perfect is not the application. In many of the videos I have tested it performed better than the Vlc. At the moment, both the Vlc and this application are very green but something better is going.

    Isaac83:
Have you given 775 to the application folder or everything inside too?

You would first have to download the attached file and then access the Downloads folder in / private / var / mobile / Documents with this program

hello, how can I download it from cydia, I'm looking for it but can't find it ...

Congratulations on this piece of blog

although I have already tried the VLC (previous payment of € 5) I am left with this one, although in any case the problem of having to convert the videos to a different format to be able to reproduce it still remains.
I think that the first one to develop a native .AVI or .MPEG player will win the prize

    Install the font from Modmyi.com.
You can do this by opening Cydia, going to Sections, Repositories. There you will have the Modmyi.com package to install. Once it is installed, you can install this application.

It may be that in Sections / Repositories I don't appreciate what you tell me "Modmyi.com", I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

    Gala:
If it doesn't appear to you, nothing happens. Add the source by hand as follows. Go to Manage, Sources, Edit, Add and write there:
    http://apt.modmyi.com
Once that's done, you hit Ok and Done. Then try searching for the package again.

Boy, I have installed the program but it does not appear ...

  18.   gala said

It has already worked for me, thank you very much… .but how do I know for future installation what Repositories is, and which one should be added, how did you know it was.

  19.   Schumy said

I'm glad it was worth it for you.
Well, the two ways to know it will be because we say it here or because you see it elsewhere. I knew it was because I knew where the application was hung at the time.

I synchronized music and videos and saw them perfectly. Next I installed the mplayer, created the / private / var / media folder, then added a .mp4 video and it looked good. The problem was when I then went into my music and videos folder on the ipod, and I get "No videos" and in music it says "No music." From the Total commander plug-in I see that the .mp3 and .mp4 files are on the ipod. Do I cut my hands or would someone know how to help me? Thanks a lot.
