New evidence of an iPad Pro with mini-LED screen comes to light

The rumor that Apple would be planning to launch a new iPad Pro with mini-LED screen. We have been speculating about the release of this model on a 12,9-inch screen size for about a year. Well, new rumors have emerged about the production line of this device.

A point on which there is still no consensus on when we can see this new iPad Pro with mini-LED screen on the market. Initially it was commented that they should leave at the end of 2020 but the latest rumors pointed to the second quarter of 2021.

At latest Digitimes report neither is an answer given to the unknown about the release date, however, it does show evidence that an iPad Pro with this technology would be in development.

Ennostar will start producing mini-LED back light units (BLU) for Apple very soon.

Ennostar will launch the production of mini-LED screens at the end of the first quarter of 2021 or at the beginning of the second according to industry sources.

As you know, current iPads and MacBooks implement LCD screens, which requires "taillights" or backlights for lighting these. These lights are LED and depending on the size of the screen they can be implemented from dozens to hundreds of them on the same one.

Mini-LED technology allows much smaller LEDs to be implemented which allows the largest screens to implement thousands of them. This provides greater light control which favors the device to have a higher brightness and show us darker and real blacks.

This technology we should not confuse it with microLED, since this is a type of next generation screen that we hope will eventually replace the current OLEDs.

Apple has been working on the technology for a while now and we hope to see it soon on the rumored 12,9-inch iPad Pro. On the other hand, it fits also expect it on the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models.

Fortunately or unfortunately, There have not been many more rumors about the news that the next iPad Pro will bring. Even so, it will surely bring improvements in the processor or certain internal components that justify a possible update from the previous iPad Pro (or, at least, for those who want to always be up to date).
