Otterbox has presented a case that in addition to protect like those belonging to the Defender range, incorporates an internal battery and an application that will help us properly manage battery consumption. This is a very interesting idea since on many occasions, the use of a battery of this type entails the practice of an application that requires extra consumption, either through the use of GPS or any other application.
Thanks to the internal battery, we can recharge the iPhone completely. Automatically, recharging starts when the percentage reaches 60% and stops when it reaches 100%. A series of LEDs will visually show us the remaining autonomy, each LED representing 10%. To recharge both the battery of the case and that of the iPhone, we can use a MicroUSB cable.
Regarding the iON app, Otterbox recommends it to calculate the estimated time to perform different tasks on the iPhone with the autonomy that remains. It also shows the status of each battery and predicts when it will be completely depleted. To further improve the information it displays, the iON application monitors user activity, therefore, the more we use it, the more accurate the remaining autonomy data will be.
The price of the OtterBox Defender case with internal battery andIt is available for a price of $ 130 and it is only compatible with iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S. The brand is already working on a version for the iPhone 5 that will arrive in the coming months.
