Samsung introduces Bixby 2.0 geared towards smart devices

Last year, Samsung bought the company that had developed Bixby, a company that had been created with former Apple employees who had been tasked with developing Siri. The reason for their departure from the company was related to the possibilities that this development group wanted to implement in Siri, but that Apple did not see with good eyes, so they decided to leave the company and create an assistant just as they wanted. According to the TechCrunch publication, a reference in the world of technology, in the tests they carried out in the technology days it organizes, Bixby is the best assistant currently available, obviously if we do not take into account the problem with languages.

While Bixby continues to attend language school, because it only speaks English and Korean, the Korean company has presented at the Developer Conference held these days in San Francisco, Bixby 2.0. With Bixby 2.0 Samsung wants this assistant to become the nerve center of our home in the form of a smart speaker, and with which we will be able to manage all compatible smart devices in addition to all the products of the company that already integrates it (smartphones and televisions) and those that will do so in the future or that have a connection to the internet, whether they are refrigerators, washing machines, speakers ...

Samsung wants Bixby to become one more option when it comes to competing with Amazon's Alexa or Google Assistant that, like its competitors, they want to lock consumers into an ecosystem of their own hardware and software. Bixby will also be able to communicate with smart devices and for this it has launched the first beta of the development kit for developers to start adapting their devices to be compatible with the Samsung ecosystem.

If we stop to think, Samsung in theory is one of the best positioned to control practically any household appliance through voice commands through Bixby, since in addition to televisions, it also manufactures washing machines, refrigerators, dryers, Blu-ray players, speakers ... all these devices can be managed by voice commands, which is a great leap in terms of home management, and that is perfectly complemented by smart locks, thermostats, smart lights, surveillance cameras ...
