In addition to the presentations of its new smartphones, the Galaxy Note 5 and the S6 Edge +, Samsung left a small space for the end of its event for what will be the next smartwatch from the Korean company: the Samsung Gear S2. A smartwatch very different from those that the company had launched so far, with a much more careful design and with an interface that inevitably reminds of the one used by Apple on its Apple Watch. The presentation video and details below.

The evolution of Samsung with this new smartwatch has been great in terms of design. The new Gear S2 is very far from the previous models, more similar to a reduced smartphone placed on the wrist. We forget about the absurd cameras built into the straps and similar occurrences of past models and we are left with a much more beautiful device with a design that is much closer to what it should be: a watch. Samsung has opted for a round case and according to the images it seems that it would also have a physical button as a crown. According to the leaks, the frame of the box would also be rotatable and would serve as a control knob for the device's menus.

The specifications were not shown, but from the images it seems that this new smartwatch will not carry Android Wear. Google's mobile operating system still does not raise its head and manufacturers do not finish betting on it, and to confirm that this Gear S2 carries Tizen, an operating system that Samsung has already used in other smartwatchesIt would be a new blow to Google and its Android Wear. As we can see in the presentation video, the interface has changed compared to previous versions and the influence of watchOS is more than evident. We do not know if it has a SIM (I doubt it because of the size), but presumably it will have, in addition to Bluetooth connectivity, WiFi connectivity. The rest of the specifications, prices and release date are supposed to be unveiled at the IFA in Berlin on September 3.
