After a long wait, the day finally came. Spotify already supports Siri, thanks to its update released today. It is no longer just Alexa and Google Home that can boast of playing music only by asking for it out loud. Siri adds to the cart and we can now ask you to play a specific song, a specific album, or any type of music that Spotify has on its servers. Great news.
Spotify has just released its version 8.5.26, and in its update note it explains that it is already compatible with Siri in iOS 13. We can already ask you for any specific song or album. If we only ask you to do so, Siri will run its default music application, Apple Music, but if we add the tag "on Spotify", then it will launch that application and play the requested song for you.
Obviously, it works on any Apple device that has its Siri voice assistant, be it an iPhone, iPad, CarPlay and HomePod. This update cried out to heaven, since a year ago Amazon and Google voice assistants already had this service. Now it will be a wonder to be able to say to our HomePod: "Siri, put me a song by Queen on Spotify" and enjoy the voice of Freddie Mercury, for example.
In addition, If you have an Apple TV, you can now download the Spotify application for that device, absent in the Apple Store until today. Now you can also enjoy your favorite music on the television where you have your Apple TV connected.
It is certainly great news. The truth is that it is very convenient to ask Siri to play any song of the thousands and thousands that Spotify has in its catalog. If you are a Spotify subscriber, congratulations. And if you are not yet, you already have one more reason to subscribe.
