Skype along with Google Hangouts are the most widely used platforms in the world to make video calls between users. Skype, which is now 10 years in the marketIt seems that in recent times it has lagged somewhat behind offering limited functions exclusively for its premium accounts, while Google did not limit that possibility and from the beginning it has not made different between users.
Until practically a year and a half ago, Skype offered the ability to make group video calls only to its premium customers, so that normal Skype users could not use that service without going through the box or being forced to use Hangouts. For a year and a half, PC, Mac and Xbox users can make group video calls only from those platforms, but in a few days that will change.
It will change because the guys from Skype have just announced that in a few weeks they will expand that function to users of the different mobile platforms on the market, such as iOS, Android and of course Windows 10 Mobile so that we can create groups of video calls wherever we are without having to be seated in front of our PC, Mac or Xbox as before.
Since the launch of the call service offered by Skype, there have been more than 750 million people who have downloaded the application today and they have used it. A good part of its success was due to the fact that it was the first platform that offered this type of calls for free among users over the internet, ideal for all those friends or relatives who are abroad and that due to the high cost of international calls were barely in touch.
