The new iPadOS, the operating system for iPad, is here.

After talking about tvOS 13, watchOS 6 and iOS 13, Apple has brought out all its arsenal and has presented, for the first time, an exclusive operating system for iPad, iPadOS. Now, the iPhone and the iPad will not share an operating system, something that has been asked of the iPad for a long time.

The new iPad operating system focuses on functionality, adding many shortcuts, new features in multitasking, file improvements and much more.

To improve the user experience, Apple now allows you to pin widgets to the home screen of the iPad, to make more use of the space that was left between the apps.

The split screen improves a lot on iPadOS. Now we can open two windows of the same application, such as Notes, Mail and even third-party applications such as Word. In addition, it is now easier to search among the apps that we have used in Slideover, in the same way that we do with the applications in iOS (iPhone).

To better find all open apps, split screens, etc., iPadOS brings Exposé for the iPad, where we can see at a glance everything we have in use.

At last! Now we can connect hard drives, pen drives and SD cards to our iPad. The new iPadOS Files app has this new capability and many more, such as a new column view, in the style of macOS and being able to share iCloud folders with other people. Additionally, by connecting a camera, we can access photos from third-party applications, without having to import them into Photos first.

Safari for iPadOS also brings news. Safari now has a full desktop browser experience, forcing the desktop versions of the webs and, in addition, it adds a download manager and much more.

iPadOS now allows the use of different fonts and brings many better ones when it comes to writing. With iPadOS, it is much easier to move around and select text. What's more, With three-finger gestures, we can copy and paste text and undo the actions.

Finally, news in the Apple Pencil. Now, Apple Pencil has a much faster response with just 9 milliseconds of delay and new color palettes and utensils.
