It is time to talk about the screens of the new iPhones. But not how cool the new one looks Retina HD, but the glass that covers it. And it is that as we can see in Apple's own support forums, the screen of these last two models of the smartphone of the apple company, would be more prone to scratches than those of previous devices.
The thread of the conversation is generating a lot of discussion but, honestly, it is not something that surprises me. Now here near. Whenever a new device is released, it is very common to see these types of discussions. I do not deny that it could be true that it was scratched more easily (now we will talk about that) but it does it tends to exaggerate a lot with these things.
It is true that if a study tells me that the screen of the new iPhones is more fragile, I believe it. There are many reasons why this new screen could be different from the rest, but the most obvious (and, what a coincidence, is where most of the complaints from users are focused) are its curved edges. Having acquired a curvature and leaving aside the usual flatness to which we were accustomed, it is logical to think that those areas are more exposed to the events of our daily chores.
A comment that is also repeated a lot is that the scratches have appeared there despite having taken extreme care of the iPhone. If I have learned something in recent years, it is that the concept of "caring for" an iPhone is totally relative. I, who have really treated it well, do not have any scratches on the edges. And you?
Brittleness and scratches have very little to do with it. A little serious.
Fragility and hardness are not exactly the same, but it is not that they have nothing to do with it ... And if we get like that, what needs a bit of seriousness is your comment because "scratches" hurt my eyes (it is written "scratches") .
Personally, I think that the same seriousness is not required to an article in a blog as to a response. Even so, I admit that I always had problems between stripes and stripes, both terms very similar in spelling and meaning.
On the other hand, since you comment and defend the issue of fragility and hardness, in a post that talks about scratches on a screen, fragility has little importance and hardness is very important. These are two properties that despite the fact that they are generally contrary, it is not always the case. Moreover, based on your defense it would be even more incorrect, since, as a general rule, being more fragile it would in turn be harder and therefore more difficult to scratch.
Without further ado, and with my sincerest apologies for any possible misspellings, a greeting.
Well, Javi, the truth is that you are not quite right on the issue of hardness and fragility. You see, I am a mechanical engineer, and I am sorry to tell you first-hand that in the case of crystals for mobile devices and tablets, and I assure you that fragility and hardness do not have much to do with it, but they are NOT the opposite at all! So I would ask that unless you have a Ph.D. to stop trying to humiliate people who comment here. Greetings friend :)
Coincidentally, this is the first iPhone in which I have decided not to put a screen protector, and for now not a single scratch since the day of departure with intensive use.
I take care of it especially well too and the other day I discovered a small scratch on the aluminum, showing it to my girlfriend it slipped out of her hands and now I have seen a crack on the small screen from the top but it gives me courage because my iPhone 4 in 4 years had hardly any scratches ...
Courage should give you with your girlfriend hahaha
Hahaha a little yes initially hehehe but hey, I will continue to be careful and try not to fall into more hands than mine hehehe
Hahaha, they are the only idiots to whom the company they idolize sells immaculate devices brought from heaven, bordering on perfection, to later realize that they are not like that and blame the users themselves for misusing them. How much fanaticism !!!!
I would bet that it is true, I have checked the resistance in the day to day of many devices and I have to say that despite taking care of it like the € 800 it has cost me (not to put it together with anything in my pockets, always put it on some surface that I cannot scratch it, etc ... My screen has superficial scratches that I could not explain why they are, they simply are, and some a few days after buying it, none on the edges, but quite a few from the front, luckily they are not normally visible And you have to look at it, but it's mad ... I'm waiting for a glass screen protector that I bought online to solve this aspect. 🙂
The screens of the iPhone always, no matter how little it is, are scratched. Since the first day with protector and at the moment, neither edges nor anything is scratched. But my experience tells me yes. The iPhone 4 and 4S always with a cover and protector, and the metal edge has always been scratched, small scratches that are seen in the afterlight, but something is always logical that it is scratched
I have chosen to put protectors on the iPhones I have had, from 4 to 5s, in the case of the iPhone 6 I have not yet put a protector except in the case of carrying it with a case, I have two months with the cell, so far not has no scratches, I think it will depend a lot on the use and how it is treated.
Without protector from the first day it came out in Spain and not a scratch or hairline in the light ...
if you throw it from a car in normal gear that scratches or bends or does not restart?
On a 30% larger screen, it is overwhelmingly logical that there are 30% more scratches, right? more scratch surface more scratches ...
If you read well, you will know where it is from. All the best.
That is the problem, that they criticize excellent articles without even having read them to them.
It bends, it scratches ... If you launch a Tomahawk missile at it, it may also disintegrate. If you want something shockproof, buy a truck of those yellow Securitas, that is hard. If you buy a Lamborghini and kick the doors, they'll get dented too. All to discredit the iPhone. I'm a telecoms business, and the iPhone 6 is by far the best phone I've ever owned. When all the other brands make comparisons of their flagships with the iPhone, they are making it clear that it has been the target to be struck down.
Having also had an iPhone 3gs and a 4s, it is noticeable that the screen of the 6 scratches much more easily. As Juan Colilla comments, the use that I have given it and the care it has been impeccable, and even so there are micro scratches that can only be appreciated by looking closely (but they are there ... another thing is that, my wife, for example, does not see them).
