Summer is back, the Tour de France is back on the televisions of millions of people all over the world. The acclaimed French race has finished with its countdown and it is already among us to give a show, emotion and a dose of suffering in the high mountains, but also from the organization they want us to complement it with the official application so that we do not miss anything.

Obviously the most interesting part of the application is the one that allows us to follow the race live at any time. We therefore have access to exact kilometer point where the runners are, as well as various data of the race such as temperature, wind speed (and direction), the map with the route to be covered, the altimetry, the scheduled times and also the provisional classifications in real time .
In the same way that we can see this data from the current stage, we can do the same (logically excepting the live data) with the rest of the planned stages, as well as we can review the stages that have already been disputed to review what has happened in detail.
The only thing that may be missing are live comments of the stage, something that would be very interesting to be able to move around and see what has been happening during it, but it is understandable the omission for requiring multiple workers to maintain it.
More things
Fortunately the application it is quite complete, and in it, the multimedia sections where we can track photos and videos of the race, the classifications of all the jerseys in dispute, the complete tour of the Tour and of course a file with each and every one of the runners and the teams to which they belong.
At the design level, the application does not present new features with what was seen in last year, which on the other hand was good enough to bet on continuity and not want to risk. Perhaps navigation with those effects of faces of a hexahedron It may not be the most successful or up-to-date, but at least it is relatively well optimized and does not cause any kind of slowdown in the use of the application.
It should be noted that the application remains totally free and that they have opted not to include paid content, something that as always is appreciated and that we consider totally logical in an event with similar characteristics.
