The Yotube website once again receives the 'Picture in Picture' function of iOS 14

iOS 14 received a novelty highly anticipated by all users. Is about Picture-in-Picture (PiP) or image on image translated into Spanish. This function allows the reproduction of audiovisual content simultaneously with the performance of other tasks. The video floats on the screen, being able to modify its size and its location on it while the user does other tasks. YouTube removed Picture in Picture support from its website a few days ago after the release of iOS 14. However, the function has returned to the web and we can now enjoy it again taking into account that the app is not yet compatible with PiP.

Youtube returns Picture in Picture to its website

Picture in Picture is a very useful tool that was already available on iPadOS. However, the small size of the iPhone screens cast doubt on whether or not to launch this feature in iOS 14. Finally, Picture in Picture is with us and we can multitask while playing videos from anywhere. The video is anchored in one of the corners of the screen, being able to modify its size, its position and we can even return to full-screen playback.

When iOS 14 was released publicly the Youtube website launched support for this function With which users could play YouTube videos in the background while browsing the Internet or writing emails, for example. However, days later YouTube covered the function, leaving users as when they were on iOS 13. In addition, the app is not yet compatible with PiP and there are certain doubts as to whether the intention is to become compatible or not.

A few hours ago, YouTube web support for PiP is back. We can put videos of the platform back in the background while we perform other tasks on iOS 14. As a reminder to launch this function, just start playing a video. We put it in full screen and in the upper left part we click on the icon that shows the minimization of the window. To return to full screen, click on the video and launch the full screen.
