Unbox Therapy shows us an iPhone 7 Plus mockup in blue

When the iPhone was introduced in 2007 it was only available in black. Years later they presented the iPhone 4 also in white. With the arrival of the iPhone 5s, the color gold also arrived and last year they presented rose gold, which makes a total of 4 colors. In 2016 the iPhone 7 is expected to return to black, replacing space gray, and some rumors spoke of an iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus blue, a model that Unbox Therapy has already gotten its hands on.

To be more exact, what they have sent to Unbox Therapy has been a mockup, the most accurate according to the YouTuber who became famous for being the root of Bendgate. The mockup in the following video shows practically nothing new: an iPhone 7 Plus with dual camera (probably 12 + 12Mpx) without ring, absence of headphone port and Smart Connector. But we can see a couple of interesting things, starting with the lines for the antennas, those that have been moved and are now only present on the upper and lower edges.

The position of said lines for antennas It is not new, but its color is. As you can see, the lines of this model are neither white nor gray, but rather they are the same blue than the rest of the casing. In the gold and rose gold iPhone 6s, the lines are white and that is one of the reasons why in the end I did not decide on the gold color, if not for a silver in which these bands are less visible for the antennas.

The other interesting point is that yes, the switch to put the iPhone on silence would be present. A few weeks ago another model appeared in which said switch did not appear, which made us fear that the next iPhone, at least the Plus model, would arrive in this sense as the latest iPad models.

There is a third interesting point, although OnLeaks had already said that this was the option chosen by Apple: at the bottom, in addition to seeing or, rather, not seeing the headphone port, we can see that there will be a second speaker, which will greatly improve the sound of the device. It's supposed to be stereo, so it's a shame that both speakers are on the bottom.

At one point in this video, Unbox Therapy puts an iPhone 6s Plus and the iPhone 7 Plus mockup face up and touches the upper left edge to check that the iPhone 7 Plus moves much more than the model presented now almost 11 months ago , which means that the camera module is thicker. You might think that this extra "dance" is because the next iPhone has different dimensions, but we would be wrong. The dimensions of the smartphone that Apple will present in September are practically exact to those presented in 2015, only reducing the thickness of the iPhone 4s by 6 hundredths of a millimeter. If it weren't for the cameras, which in the plus model will be dual and in the normal model it will be much larger, the iPhone 6s cases would fit the iPhone 7 without problems.

Another thing that, according to this model, the next models will have different is something that is not very important, but I comment on it to talk about all the new details: the letters font from the back of the case looks a little different to the one used until last year, which is especially noticeable in the text "iPhone".

There are many details that we cannot see in this video and that some rumors speak of, such as that the iPhone 7 will be waterproof and the sound it will offer will be digital, one of the reasons why Apple would have decided to eliminate a connector 3.5mm jack that was born more than a century ago. Nor can we see the RAM that it will bring and some rumors claim that the Plus model will have 3GB of RAM. To find out all the details we will still have to wait another four weeks.
