A high school teacher also charged with Celebgate

It seems that for now, the Celebgate continues to speak when in theory, after the fourth defendant was imprisoned, this case should have ended the related news. But not. Apparently there were 4 involved in mass access of iCloud accounts, among others in 2014 and that affected a large number of celebrities.

Christopher Brannan has been accused of unauthorized access to the accounts of various celebrities in 2014. Brannan has admitted to accessing around 200 iCloud, Facebook and Yahoo accounts downloading personal information such as photos and videos stored in these accounts.

Like the rest of the defendants, Brannan used a combination of security responses along with a fake email from Apple's support service where they were redirected to a fake website very similar to the one Apple (in the case of those affected by iCloud) and used special software from the company Elcomsoft to download all the content stored in the iCloud accounts from Apple servers. He finally tried to trade that data over the internet.

In addition to accessing numerous celebrity accounts, Brannan used similar tactics to access his sister-in-law's iCloud account and teacher accounts at Lee-Davis High School in Virginia, where He was a special education teacher until 2015.

Prosecutors have agreed a 34-month prison sentence for Brannan, a penalty that will begin to serve on January 25, 2019. Brannan's lawyers affirmed that he is not a socially active person and that he replaced that lack of social interaction by seeing photos of other people's lives, so he should not be labeled as sex offender. Like the previous 4 defendants, Brannan only pleaded guilty to computer and identity theft charges.
