A Korean store will sell iPhones through facial recognition

The iPhone 12 and the other models of the Apple terminal will go on sale in a 24-hour store in Korea. This would not have to be anything new if we did not know that this store will be unstaffed and will be accessed via facial recognition for customers who want to go make their purchase.

The store will be located in Seoul and will be known as T-Factory 24 as of its opening, established for this coming Friday. It will do so thanks to an agreement with local operator SK Telecom. Customers will have to register to access, then they will have the possibility to enter the store at any time of the day through facial recognition.

Business Korea indicates that this store it's just a small part of a great initiative.

T Factory will be the result of how SK Telecom has collaborated with other national and international companies such as Microsoft, Apple and Samsung Electronics. Customers will be able to enjoy the 5Gx Cloud Game, just launched between SK Telecom and Microsoft. In addition, the latest Apple and Samsung Electronics products will also be available to the customer so that they can test them.

T Factory will also have a leisure space where the youngest customer, including children, where they can interact with various elements. They will be able to try Augmented Reality elements, spend time with their friends in a virtual space through Jump VR, even enjoy a music service based on Artificial Intelligence.

The T Factory 24 store will provide customers with the possibility of buy a new smartphone in less than five minutes despite not having staff to help in the process.

T Factory will open an unstaffed shop that will be open 24 hours a day to allow customers a car check-in, compare smartphones, receive estimates based on Artificial Intelligence, buy smartphones and their accessories or join plans to sell their own devices.

Once customers have registered in the store, they can enter at any time thanks to the facial recognition system that they will have.

In addition, to protect customers from COVID-19, SK Telecom has installed a specially designed door with all security measures including thermal control.
