A new case of malware is discovered in the App Store that infected PC's

Malware contained in Instaquotes

A new case of malware present in one of the applications of the App Store, this time, Instaquotes-Quotes Cards for Instagram. This app contains specific malicious software known as "Worm.VB-900".

This worm written in Visual Basic what it does is install files inside the Windows directory, and then modify the Windows registry to run malware when the system is rebooted. Therefore, if you downloaded this app when it became available, we recommend that you remove it as soon as possible.

The developer of Instaquotes-Quotes Cards for Instagram ensures thate was not aware that your application had malware inside. Apparently they hired a freelance developer to build the app and are now investigating what has happened to resolve the issue as soon as possible.

This makes alarm alarms about the security of the applications that are in the App Store. A few days ago we saw a Trojan contained in an application and we learned that one in five applications accessed our contacts without permission.

The best solution would be to put an antivirus in the appstore that will inform you of those harmful files and allow you to delete it at the moment and that also inform you and allow you to block the applications that access your contacts without you noticing

Thank you very much for warning, they are the only Spanish-speaking people who have done it, weird things had already appeared in Appshopper (that's where the offer that put it on the map came from) but it caught me by surprise ... Scanning and restoring system ...
