A serious problem would affect the screens of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus

Touch Disease

About to turn 2 years old, the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus is still the main device of many iPhone users who did not make the leap to the new "s" model or decided to acquire an iPhone still with very good performance at a price below of the latest model on the market. Whatever your case, if you have an iPhone 6 or 6 Plus, pay attention to this news because There seems to be a serious bug with your screen that could end up causing it to stop responding when touched. More and more users are turning to repair centers with this problem, and Apple's support forums are also full of user complaints. We tell you the details below.

It all starts with a small blinking gray bar at the top of the screen, appearing and disappearing. But this is only the beginning of the problem, because afterwards the screen begins to not recognize when you touch it. Although at first they are intermittent problems, which are solved by pressing the screen or "twisting" the iPhone a bit, but as time goes by, the problem becomes more frequent and lasting, until the iPhone is completely frozen, without responding to anything. iFixit, the well-known website that is responsible for gutting all of Apple's new devices shortly after launch, has been talking to numerous iPhone repair centers and it seems they have pinpointed the source of this problem.

It seems that this serious failure originates from the famous "bendgate" of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. By applying forces to the iPhone that can deform its structure almost imperceptibly, the chips that are responsible for the device's touch interface could be affected, first intermittently and later permanently, causing this problem called by iFixit as « Touch Disease »(tactile disease, to translate it somehow into Spanish).

Since the problem is in the chips under the screen, the screen change that many users have tried to fix the problem is of no use. The repair is more complex and few technical services can adequately solve it. As the first year of warranty that Apple offers in most countries is happening, at the moment users are not receiving any satisfactory response from the company. Let us remember that in Europe the guarantee by law is two years, so here all the affected devices would still be covered.

In the absence of Apple's official version of this problem, The only thing that we can advise you in the event that you begin to suffer from something that we have mentioned, is that you go immediately to Apple to show them the fault and have the device replaced or repaired.

Unfortunately my girlfriend's iPhone 6 had been suffering from this problem since May. At the beginning of August he moved to the US and we went together to the Apple Store in Grand Central Station, in NY. After making an appointment at the Genius Bar, they told us that it was a problem with the phone and that it had to be replaced with a new one, yes, for the modest price of 325 USD ... what a bunch of thieves ...
Total, you now enjoy your new phone, but with a 3-month warranty ... I'm seriously considering changing my iPhone for an Android, Apple customer service is not what it used to be

I was in the Apple Store with a problem of the same type ... above it was my iPhone 6 for professional use for work, and they couldn't do anything to me and I had to pay 300 euros, yes, I had to wait a week for them to give my new «second hand iPhone»…. unfortunately the guarantee did not fit ... before I was a fan of Apple but now I am considering very seriously change me to android since I really like android also iOS ... but it is always the same ..

So well, let's hope that Apple does something "good" and we change the terminals for new ones from the factory.

Unfortunately I have that problem but as expected in third world countries they send you to the fourth world with this problem, they don't even give you some kind of solution, it is a pity that my investment will soon expire. Unfortunately my luck with Apple.

However, if I did not misunderstand the article, it is a problem associated with bendgate, that is, the possibility of the phone bending and deforming when pressure is applied. Therefore, it is not something that will necessarily happen to all the users of these models: it is almost enough not to put them in the back pocket of the pants and that's it. Come on, it's not an everyday thing to go around bending phones.

Anyway, Apple's response could be better, without a doubt. Although if you had the same problem with any android, the answer would be the same or worse, if you find who to claim. Not crazy I go back to android.

Hello, remember that at first the bendgate was mentioned and later they mentioned that Apple made a modification to the case of the following batches. I live in Mexico and I had the misfortune to buy an iPhone 6plus from the first batch, just like my brother. Apple is aware of this error and the same service center advisors tell you that it is a common error.
I am a careful person with my cell phone to such a degree that I take it out of the bag of my pants to sit down and with a cover and with a tempered glass screen protector. I recommend that at the first failure you speak to Apple service and mention the problem and if they do not solve them, speak to Apple United States directly. Greetings

As I mentioned above, 325 USD in an Apple Store in New York, in case you want to ask Apple United States ...

The same thing happened to me and I no longer had a guarantee. It is unfortunate to go to a call center and they say that they have never had so many problems with the products. I think it takes the heavy hand that was with Steve Jobs.

I agree with HUMBERTO, what else is that about moving to Android? As if it will work better, android to others is not a phone, will it be to Samsung? Q sure the service is pathetic, but it seems that in front of a bad answer from Apple it is to write on a web - I'm moving to android -
    God what a pathetic answer!
And everyone went back to buying iPhones ...

Pfff that is hypocrisy, move to android to see if with a mobile operating system on pendrive you have no problems ..

The same thing happened to me! With my 6 plus, 2 months after the warranty expires! (Today I wonder if it was pure coincidence or apple has something to do with it). Luckily for me (what I previously thought was a "disgrace") my cell phone was part of the 6 plus lot that had the camera stabilizer damaged. With the fault already present when taking the photos (being under warranty), I never changed the cell phone because I had 2 years to do it and I always put it off. However, when the screen problem appeared, I decided to take it to the authorized center in my country. As strange they told me that they did not change it because it was out of warranty and that they only fixed the stabilizer. It didn't seem fair and I contacted apple directly. In the first level of response they told me the same thing as in the store. However, I asked to be contacted by a supervisor, arguing that due to the camera problem I had lost the opportunity to portray incredible moments in my life hahahaha and apart from that the screen no longer served me. After three days of mailing and receiving with supervisors, I had my out-of-warranty equipment replaced.

Conclusion: Always escalate your cases to the second level (supervisors). They have much more autonomy and ability to respond.

I had the same problem with my iPhone 6 plus, what seemed strange to me is that when forcing the restart of the operating system it worked normal and after a while it returned with the problem, so it did not seem like a HW problem but a SW problem; So I decided to restore the OS version and go back to 9.3.2 from iTunes and wala I've been a week and everything is working as it should !!!. I hope it helps you correct that annoying problem.

I had the same problem with my Iphone 5. Gray bar at the top and after a while the screen responded less and less. Too bad I no longer had a guarantee when it happened ... I changed it for an Iphone 6, I hope the same does not happen.

One more with the problem of yore in an iphone 6 plus 64gb. I go to Apple and as it is in the second year of warranty they are not responsible for taking it to the operator. They tell me that if I had bought it there, even if it was from an operator, they would change it or if I had apple care that I did not have. Total took him to Orange and in 15 days a new phone (refurbished). Also there at Apple in parksur they already knew about the problem, they received enough a week, but the jetas have not officially recognized the problem. So if you have less than 2 years to the operator and if not you screw up and throw a € 800 phone or buy a refurbished for € 300 and a bit.

    All the best

With the same screen problem on an iphone 6 plus. I have taken the mobile to the FNAC in Madrid where I bought it; They told me that they would take care of the repair (since it was in the second year of warranty) by sending it to an official Apple repairman. The point is that I took it on July 20 and still no one realizes what happened or how long it will take to fix it. I never carry the phone in the back pocket of my pants, nor have I ever folded it and I have carried it with a protective case from day one. It seems incredible that a product from Apple (the world's number 1 industrial and technological company) that costs almost € 1000, fails completely after a year and a half of use.

That happened to me at the end of last year and I took it under warranty since it is not expired yet, I ran with the luck of being able to record the failure and be able to send it to the technician in Cupertino so that the process would be more agile, which lasted 3 months for That they replaced the phone with a new one that after 15 days also presented the failure so I sent it back to warranty demanding a new one with which I am currently without failure, I hope this one does not fail again

I don't know why they are obsessed with iPhones, they are rubbish, mine stopped working a year after I bought it.

In Colima with this problem they only told me that they could change it to me but that I had to pay $ 8000.00 pesos being that it is a factory problem.
