The developers of WALTR, a Mac application that allows you to quickly upload videos to your iPhone that iTunes does not support, have found that your app can upload 4K videos to iPhone 6. Where later this one is able to reproduce it without any problem.
This is because the A8 chip that carry the new Apple mobiles, the processor is so powerful that allows you to play this type of video format. And it is that although the resolution of the iPhone 6 (1334 × 750) and the iPhone 6 Plus (1920 × 1080) will not be able to show the detail of a 4K video (3840 × 2160), thanks to its processor it can be played but not with the quality that prevails in this video format.
The problem that has this type of format is the size of each 4K video since it can be huge, so many iPhone users may not pay much attention to this type of format. Although it is very good to know what limitations our devices have.
And it is that after the launch of the iMac Retina 5K, it seems that the Apple company wants to develop the display in high definition. And although in our iPhone they are not seen as a possibility today, due to the space limitations that many users have with the 16 GB terminal, possibly used for Apple TV using A8 chip, which would reproduce the 4K format without problems.
I think it is monumental nonsense to have videos at 4k with what it occupies in an iphone 6, when the screen resolution does not match the profile to take advantage of it, but if I recorded the iphone 6 at 4K then at least it would make more sense ...
At the moment I do not see much sense in this technology and less in an iPhone or any other device, because the eye can no longer take advantage of the quality of resolution that these formats have. Maybe on tv maybe yes, but I watch movies in dvdrip or hdrip and they look and sound perfect. For what else? It is absurd. First of all, why does the iPhone want to play UHD or 4k, if its screen does not work under such a resolution, and it does not have a camera to record videos with that capacity for detail. And second, no matter how capable it is to reproduce, I, and many, do not have a UHD monitor / TV, so even if it were of some use, I could not enjoy it.
