Adobe has updated its two main Photoshop apps for iOS, Fix and Mix, with full support for multitasking features in iOS 9 and with compatibility for the iPad Pro.
Both apps now offer split view on iPads, which allows them to work side-by-side with other applications that support the feature. The update is limited to the iPad Air 2, iPad Mini 4 and the next iPad Pro. On the iPad Pro it will allow users to edit larger images than on other devices.
Similarly, applications should have "basic" functions for the Apple Pencil, but Adobe did not elaborate on what this means. Apple Pencil offers tilt and pressure sensitivity.
Fix Photoshop is geared towards retouching and restoring images, using various brushes and tools to adjust focus, color, exposure and saturation. Mix is built to use clipping, combining, and layers, although some basic image adjustment tools are present.
Both apps are free, and they run on any device with iOS 8.1 or later. Users must, however, have an Internet connection and an Adobe ID to use them.
