After a week of use, Gboard is the best alternative keyboard for iOS

gboard-1

Sin embargo, Google se propuso acabar con todo esto, el Gboard is undoubtedly one of the best alternative keyboards that we have found in the iOS App Store and we will tell you why, we analyzed Gboard after a week of use.

IOS users see the launch of new iOS applications with strange eyes, we are not going to deny it, most of them are curiously poorly optimized and do not generate much less pleasure in their use. Suspicious, but forced by the task of informing you, I installed Gboard, the new keyboard for iOS that promised a lot, a lot. The new Google keyboard aims to save us a lot of time, and that's right, the reality is that their work as can be expected of them, producing a quality and optimization of the content that we could not imagine, we are going to give a few reasons.

He had everything to fail, and he succeeded

I do not fall short, I say it with a big mouth, and it is that Gboard had it all to fail, indeed. As if that were not enough, the fact of being an alternative keyboard for iOS (they have all failed), but on top of that it is Google, direct competition from Apple and a company that is used to making real botches for iOS. On the other hand, the ballast of being an application that promises a lot, that is, it includes an exaggerated number of functions that we have never seen work decently before on iOS, to such an extent that Telegram includes these functions but in the application, to save us the evil swallow to install other types of keyboards.

But nothing is as it seems in this case. As soon as you install Gboard, you realize that it works exceptionally well. It is not as fast as the iOS keyboard, we are not going to fool anyone, and when you are used to the iOS checker, you should give Google time to assimilate your way of writing, but it moves very well, it is fluid and He performs all his tasks exactly as he should. This is what has really surprised us about Gboard.

Customizable, like everything from Google

Gboard will allow us to adjust the basic settings that we find on the iOS keyboard, that is, the shortcuts and other types of corrections. However, it will also allow us to choose if we want the keyboard to show only uppercase letters, or we want the keyboard to show uppercase and lowercase depending on the type of font we are going to use, that is, if we have pressed SHIFT (Caps Lock) or not. This is fantastic, because there is a lot of loose lover of one modality and another.

But the customization section does not stop here, we can also choose between two default themes, the white-gray keyboard, or the one loved by many black-dark gray. However, the third customization function goes much further, and is that we can choose a photograph and from this create a keyboardor, once established, we will choose what tonality or focus the keyboard will take, as well as attach an effect or not to the keys so that they differ from the background and obtain an outline. This is great, because each person can have a totally different keyboard if they want to, which will make your device unique.

Conclusions after use

The Gboard keyboard has proven effective in daily use, it has not been harmed over time, let's face it, it is the real alternative to the official iOS keyboard. I still use it and obviously it is for pleasure, although in devices like the iPad I continue to opt for the official iOS, the ability to search on Google and share them, share GIFs and search for images on the same keyboard, is priceless ...

Thanks, I'm testing it and I like it, I had swype but from time to time it failed me.

GO Keyboard works very well too. It responds fast and has transparencies that allow us to create themes similar to the native iOS in dark color, as if we had the Tweak Bloard

The possibility of dictation is missing, very useful

I'll stick with the nintype. When you get used to it, it goes pretty well. And it's super customizable

There are very good third-party keyboards but they all fail in the same way and that is that when you press on a text field to type, the keyboard is displayed suddenly and not sliding from below as the standard keyboard does. And one of the good things about iOS is precisely the fluidity of transitions and animations.

This is something that has improved a lot with iOS 10. I do not know if you are still on iOS 9, but I at least since I have the Beta of iOS 10 that problem does not occur to me
