AirTag, this will be the name of Apple's locator devices

We are still waiting for an official signal about Apple's new tracker devices, those that will make use of the U chip! and that will allow us to find any object to which we have added them. But what we do have are little leaks and rumors about them, and now it seems like We have discovered the name of these future devices that are expected for the next few days, weeks at a time: AirTag.

This is revealed by the code of the recently launched iOS 13.2, the latest version available for iPhone, where Guilherme has discovered this name within the hidden filesystem of the system. In addition to the name, he has found some other interesting detail that we will tell you below.

We have been talking about Apple's supposed localized device for weeks, and until now we have used names like AppleTag, but it seems that the official name will end up being AirTag. Besides that name, we also know that could include a replaceable battery, since in that same file system you can find what would be the animation in which it would be indicated that it is necessary to replace the device's battery. This is great news as it will ensure a longer device life than if it were a fixed battery, as is the case with some current devices.

We have no idea when we might see these new accessories. After yesterday Apple launched the new AirPods Pro without any prior announcement, many of us expected that today there would continue to be surprises and that we could see these new accessories already on sale but at the moment there is no news about them. These AirTags will make use of the U1 chip included in the new iPhone 11 and 11 Pro to locate accessories, with much greater precision than Bluetooth, and allowing not only to determine the proximity but also the position relative to us (left, right, etc.).
