Apple claims to have made this change to continue ensuring parents that the App Store is a safe place for children. If you are developers or you plan to create an application of this type, you should bear in mind that if it meets some of these requirements, it will be limited to people over 18 years of age:
- All applications within the Casino subcategory are directly considered for those over 18 years of age.
- Applications or games that display the following type of content:
- Simulated games of chance.
- Sexual content or nudity.
- Reference or use of alcohol, tobacco and drugs
- Realistic violence.
South Korea, is one of the countries where more applications of this type can be found in the App Store, so that Apple has been forced to send an email to all developers in the country where we can read:
If your app meets at least one of the above criteria, you will be able to offer it on the Republic of Korea App Store to users aged 19 and over. You will need to enter a Game Classification and Administration Committee Classification Number in App Store Connect, and you will be able to do so starting August 20.
The minimum age in South Korea to enjoy this type of game is 19 years old, while in the United States it is 17 years old.
