Amazon wants a fair deal to resell Apple TV

A few months ago, Amazon stopped selling all the set-top boxes of the most direct competition, among which we find the Apple TV and the Google Chromecast, since apparently it could not reach any agreement with both companies. so that they would natively include their Prime Video streaming video application. Regarding this issue, in the conferences that ReCode is organizing, Apple CEO Jeff Bezos has been asked why he did not sell competitive hedge-top boxes.

We sell Roku devices, we sell Xbox, we sell PlayStation. We are happy to be able to sell competitive devices on Amazon and we do so every day. We also sell Nest thermostats. When we sell other devices we want our Prime Video service to be available on these devices after reaching a beneficial agreement by both parties.

If we do not reach an agreement, we do not want to sell these types of devices because users who buy on Amazon buy them thinking that Prime Video is available on those devices and we do not want to deceive or anger our customers to the point that they may think of returning it .

When Bezzos was asked whether the conditions acceptable to both parties have to do with 30% commission that Apple keeps from all subscriptions made through the App Store, Bezos declined to answer the question, stating that the negotiations with the manufacturers are private. Last October, Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), Amazon stopped selling the Apple TV and Google Chromecast, stating that it was important for them to be able to offer their service natively on every device they sold. In November, the Amazon engineer stated that they were working on the application that would hit the market at the end of last year.

At the moment the application has not yet been released for Apple TV, although it is available for a wide variety of platforms and operating systems. The iOS app is available for download for free without having to contract the annual Amazon Prime package, since Bezos's company launched a monthly fee for Prime Video of $ 8,99 per month, which can be contracted independently. Amazon Prime is available for Android, Fire OS, Amazon Fire TV, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Wii, Wii U, LG, Panasonic, Samsung, Sony and Vizio TVs and Blu-ray players

What a nose Mr. Bezos has. I don't expect the Amazon video app to come standard on anything I buy on Amazon, nor would I be disappointed if it didn't come, especially if in case I was interested, it would be as simple as entering the Store to download it.

By the way, in the middle of the second paragraph it must be a typo where you say that in October  it stopped selling the Apple TV and the Chromecast.
