Apple Adds More Cities to Flyover; wide "Close" to more countries

Hannover on Flyover, Apple Maps

Apple continues to improve its maps. Creating quality maps is not achieved in a day and that is something that perhaps the Cupertino company should have taken into account when it launched them with iOS 6 in 2012, but in that case it seems that the intention was to eliminate Google Maps. Today they have been included new cities to Flyover, none from Latin countries, and they have also brought "Cerca" to new countries, where there is no Latin country either (although that seemed like yesterday). You have both lists below.

 New cities added to Flyover

  • Augsburg, Germany
  • Brunswick, Germany
  • Hannover, germany
  • Newcastle upon Tyne, England
  • Niigata, Japan.

New countries that have Nearby

  • Japan
  • Austria
  • Denmark
  • Switzerland

With Search, Apple Maps users will be able to see what types of restaurants, shops and other businesses we have nearby from the Maps application. Right now it is available in 13 countries. When I previously mentioned that it seemed that I had arrived in a country yesterday, I was referring to Spain, since my colleague Luis Padilla published yesterday the tweet above, but I looked at it and nothing appeared to me. Also, what we are seeing in that image is a suggestion from Siri and not the Maps option that we are talking about here.

The only thing we can think of after seeing Luis capture is that soon we will have this function available in Spain. And if it is available as a Siri suggestion, nothing makes us think that it will not be soon also from the native Apple Maps. When they will arrive is still unknown and if so is the countries that will have it available at the same time as Spain. My question is, are there more people who, like Luis, have seen Cerca as a suggestion from Siri? Do not hesitate to leave your experiences in the comments.

I'm not normally a fussy eater, but this one is a bit fat (probably due to copy / paste).
You put «New cities that have Nearby available» and it should be «New countries that have Nearby available»

Almost a year later and Cerca still has not been activated for Spain. Too bad Apple!
