Apple alerts iCloud users of storage changes

iCloud

As many of you already know, Apple announced an increase in storage space during the last keynote in which the iPad Pro, iPhone 6s and the new fourth generation Apple TV were presented. Thus, those in Cupertino have begun to alert iCloud users of the price changes that were announced, the company is sending an email to all paying users to warn them that their storage will be expanded without altering the monthly price that they have contracted up to now.

In short, for those who did not know, Apple has eliminated one of the iCloud storage options, reducing it to three options, cheaper than the previous ones and with the following prices:

  • 50GB - € 0,99 / month
  • 200GB - € 2,99 / month
  • 1TB - € 9,99 / month

It is undoubtedly good news and an incentive, since users who were paying € 0,99 for 20GB per month have now more than double the capacity they have been enjoying until now, for almost one euro, it is difficult to find an equally optimized service with all your Apple devices that offers you 50GB per month.

Unless you want to change plans, you must do absolutely nothing to update your storage to the new capacities, the current plan will be renewed to the analog on the list at the next billing, offering you new storage possibilities at no cost. Apple has also updated its help and support document for iCloud, including the new prices that are offered, where you can see what the delimited price is for your country in your own national currency.

What unfortunately has not changed is that Apple offers its users only 5GB of free storage for backups and other items, absolutely rare and inappropriate for a high-end device such as an iPhone, an iPad or any Apple computer.

And those of us who still have annual plans? Is there a way to migrate to the current ones without losing the proportional part that we have already paid for?

Okay, you increased the storage space, but you also increased the price and without warning ... that's not correct.
