The new iPad Pro arrives with true differential "Pro" features

Apple has continued with their hardware presentations at the spring event this afternoon and, as we expected, we have had news in the iPad range where, now, it lives up to its “Pro” surname with differential features. If you had any questions about a purchase of this device, surely all these news help you decide (and for the better). Stay that we tell you everything.

The new iPad Pro comes to be the most powerful and attractive of the range, and all thanks to the fact that Apple has included the M1 processor which has already dressed the MacBook and iMac range as well. In this way, the power and possibilities of the iPad Pro are multiplied, also incorporating a 8-Core CPU 50% faster than the previous Pro model and also improving its graphics power by 40% with its 8-Core GPU. As you might expect, the M1 also improves the efficiency of the device, which will keep its autonomy of a whole day without any problem.

New storage and connectivity

On the other hand, for those of us who have short local storage even with the use of iCloud, Apple has presented a new version with storage of up to 2TB with a 2x in storage speed. Undoubtedly a decision highly applauded by all those users who have an iPad Pro as a video editing tool and have to store multiple files locally for processing.

But the news has only just begun, and that is that we also have a new port on the iPad Pro to connect our accessories. Apple now incorporates a ThunderBolt port with up to 4x more bandwidth. This will allow a much faster storage in external disks and with compatibility of connection to external accessories of 6K resolution. We have been missing some comment from Apple about the possibility of enlarging the screen on external monitors, but we remain hopeful that this will be enabled by the iPad OS update that has been mentioned as the vehicle for growth in iPad functionality. We will know soon.

Continuing with the news and talking about speed, Apple has added 5G connectivity to the iPad, enabling it as a very versatile and agile tool to be able to transmit all kinds of information quickly from anywhere. It seems that Apple is betting on a future "of mobility" for its device by providing it with this technology.

New camera, new screen

On the other hand, the pandemic situation also seems to have had an impact on Apple and its developments and this has made them enhance the front camera of the iPad. Equipped with a new 12MP ultra-wide camera, it combines a new technology that they have called Central Stage. Through this technology, making a video call (and thus relating it to the situation we live in and how it has multiplied video calls), the camera will locate you and try to focus on the screen even though the device is not moving. This is done thanks to its wide angle and you will be able to detect several people to find the best possible shot.

Last and not least, The iPad Pro will have a new mini-LED screen that Apple has called Liquid Retina XDR up to 1000 nits of power and 1600 peak nits with 1.000.000: 1 contrast. We already expected this technology implemented in the iPad and, from it, we will be able to have darker blacks and greater efficiency also in the consumption of the device.

Availability and prices

We will have the two updated iPad Pro models as of April 30, when we can reserve it. They will have a Starting price for the 128GB models of € 879 for the 11-inch model and € 1.119 for the 12,9 model with increases of € 170 on the 5G models.  In this way, the 2TB models would reach the price of € 2.089 for the 11 inches and € 2.409 for the 12.9. The dates on which the first reservations will begin to be received oscillate in the second half of May.

Surely many, after seeing the great leap that it has taken with respect to the previous Pro model, encourages you to buy it. As long as accessories like the Magic KeyBoard and Apple Pencil have not been renewed and still compatible, they make this iPad Pro a great purchase option. And you? Are you going to buy the new iPad Pro? tell us in the comments.
