Apple announces WWDC 2020 online for June

It was seen to come after the cancellation of each and every one of the conferences of the main technology companies from around the world. Fairs, conferences and other events have been canceled due to the Coronavirus crisis, and the WWDC was not going to be an exception. Instead of a cancellation, Apple has preferred a format change and today Apple has confirmed that the WWDC will take place in June with a new online format, but ensuring that not an iota of its essence will be lost.

We announced WWDC for the month of June with a new format for millions of developers around the world, offering the developer community a new experience. The current global situation regarding the health crisis caused by the Coronavirus has required that we create a new format for WWDC 2020 that offers a complete program, with a presentation and online sessions, offering a great learning experience to our entire community of developers all over the world. We will share all the details in the next few weeks.

These have been the words of Phil Schiller, vice president of Marketing of the company. Craig Federighi has further added that “with all the new products and technologies that we have been working on, this is going to be very big. I'm looking forward to our developers getting their hands on the new code and interacting with our engineers building the new technologies that will be the future of all of our platforms.

We do not know the date on which the inaugural conference will take place, in which They will present us with all the news of iOS 14, watchOS 7, tvOS 14 and macOS 10.16. We also do not know if when the bet presentation of this March is canceled there will be new hardware announcements during this WWDC, something that does not usually happen. The new iPhone 9, new iPad and iPad Pro models, and the rumored AirTags should have been announced this month, and we don't know what plans Apple will have with them.
