Apple buys the Dark Sky weather app

Dark Sky

During the days of confinement that many of us are suffering, surely you have wondered on more than one occasion, because the weather information it's still so wide  if we do not have the possibility of leaving home unless it is in a very specific number of cases.

Speaking of time, the developers of the Dark Sky application have announced that Apple has bought the application, one of the most popular applications in the United States (not available in Spain) due to its precision when reporting the weather forecast.

According to the Dark Sky developer on his website:

Our goal has always been to provide the world with the best possible weather information, to help as many people as we can stay dry and safe, and to do so in a way that respects their privacy.

There is no better place to achieve these goals than at Apple. We are delighted to have the opportunity to reach many more people, with much more impact, than we could do alone.

The developer claims that the app will not receive any kind of change and will continue to be available for $ 3,99, at least in the short term, as the app will most likely disappear and become the default weather app in the next versions of iOS.

The Weather application that we currently have available on iOS, pulls your information from The Weather Channel, since the first versions of iOS, which represents a significant amount of money for the former search giant, and it is likely that it will not be willing to continue paying in the future, so Apple may have been forced to look for one alternative before it's too late.

    Two things.

    1. There appears to be some text on this ad page.

    2. I understand that from iOS 8 Yahoo Weather was left and changed to The Weather Channel.
