In recent years, it seems that Apple has focused on offering more services within the Maps app, although the process of implementing these new functions is being very slow, slower than we might expect. In the last WWDC those of Cupertino announced a new function that would allow users to create public transport routes to be able to move only using the public transport service. This new function is currently in a few cities, most of which are in the United States although we can find some in Europe, China, Australia and Canada.

The next developer conference will be held from June 13 to 17 and according to the latest rumors Apple could be working on a web application that would allow adding Apple Maps on a web page, on a blog or any other website as we can currently do with Google maps.

As we can see in the image that heads this article, the maps displayed embedded on the WWDC website they have the Apple logo in one of their corners along with a drop-down menu that allows us to select the type of view we want, whether it is normal, hybrid or satellite view. In addition, we also find in the upper left several buttons to zoom in on the image.

Apple's idea is not to launch a web service of its map service, but rather it would make a web version of the existing MapKit framework that developers can be used to embed views of Apple Maps into their applications for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. Developer Tim Broddin has created a web version of Apple Maps using an unpublished API from the company and where we can see the same options that are displayed on the map embedded on the WWDC website.
