La augmented reality it is more present than ever. With the release and evolution of the developer package, ARKit, any developer can create all kinds of tools or applications with this type of technology. The number of outputs that augmented reality can give is very extensive, and we have been able to verify this in recent months.
In the first keynote that took place in Apple Park, the big apple presented its new campus using ARKit technology, and towards that line could evolve promoting your products and presenting them in physical Apple Stores. Can you imagine getting a glimpse of the features of the HomePod moving around the physical store?
ARKit and product presentation: a concept not far from reality
It is not very far from reality because in Apple Park it is already happening. Workers show what a HomePod looks like on the inside using an ARKit-based app, allowing users to learn more about a possible product. Not only in the physical Apple Stores, but something similar has been shown to us in the keynote in recent months.
The user that interacts with a product or discovering news in a different way, such as augmented reality, captures your attention in a way that can make you much more interested. It is all marketing, but based on proprietary technology that can be used to your advantage.
The latest major update to ARKit made compatible the vertical surfaces, so that they could create an application compatible with the devices capable of showing the characteristics of a product just by approaching a stand from the physical Apple Store. We could interact with the room: its size, number of people, number of HomePods ... to see how the HomePod behaves before variations. Obviously it is not reality but this new kind of presentation gives us a close picture of how a product would behave outside of official presentations.
