In recent months we have seen how the machinery that Apple has planned to become a provider of content via streaming, is making signings of all kinds of people related to other platforms or large production companies such as Sony, in addition to go closing agreements for what they will be his first series of his own production.
But that does not mean that it is leaving aside the rest of platforms, since according to Variety magazine, Apple has hired the journalist Alex Gale, a journalist who will be in charge of coordinating the entire Apple editorial team related to music and its platforms, namely Apple Music, Beats 1 and iTunes.
Before joining, which will take place next Monday, Gale has worked on Billboard, Vibe, XXL and Complex magazine, as an editor without ever having any position of greater responsibility. Within Apple, Jen Robbins, who is currently the director of projects and editorial line within Apple Music and its derivatives, will be held accountable. But in addition, according to Variety, he will also have an important role in Apple's upcoming video streaming platform, where he will probably also be in charge of the group of publishers.
Currently, Apple Music has 36 million subscribers spread around the world. With the launch of the HomePod, he wants to increase that number by trying to convince those users who continue to use Spotify to switch to Apple's streaming music platform once and for all, since Apple's new speaker is only compatible with Apple Music, though we can play all the content available on Spotify through AirPlay technology that this device offers us, but everything will depend on the use that these users of Spotify make obviously.
