Apple has raised $ 200 million through sales of (PRODUCT) RED to fight AIDS

For more than a decade, the boys of Cupertino have been supporting AIDS research through the association (RED), an association that has shared some details about the work it is doing to put AIDS in Africa through the money it raises for the Global Fund.

Since its founding in 2006, (RED) has raised more than $ 600 million to support this Fund, of which 200 million come only from the company based in Cupertino and which is under the supervision of Tim Cook, according to the latest report published by this organization.

Apple sells a selection of exclusive (PRODUCT) REED brand products, and each time customers purchase an etsa brand device or accessory, a part of the proceeds is donated to the organization (RED). Apple has sold products under this brand for 11 years, the latest release being the iPhone XR.

Thanks to the money raised by the Global Fund, thousands of facilities have been built in Kenya and seven other countries in sub-Saharan Africa, which has had a huge impact on reducing the spread of the disease. In 2017, 53.000 HIV cases were reported in Kenya, a significant improvement over the number of HIV cases in 2000, when 9,3% of all adults in the country were HIV-positive.

Currently, Apple makes available to all users who want to collaborate with this project a series of products and accessories, among which we can stand out:

  • iPhone XR (PRODUCT) RED
  • Leather cases for iPhone XS, XS Max, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus
