Practically since its launch, iOS has limited the download of applications from the App Store to a set number of MB, making use of mobile data, a limitation with which Apple wants to help us so that our data rate does not evaporate quickly. With the launch of iOS 11, the guys from Cupertino have just announced on their developer portal that they have increased the limitation set at 100 MB up to 150 MB, an extension that will surely be welcome, especially now that data rates have considerably increased the number of GB it offers us.
The 100 MB limit was established in 2013, the year in which it was extended from 50 MB to 100 MB available until yesterday. Originally, the limit for downloading applications from the App Store using mobile data was 10 MB, a more than reasonable capacity at that time, but as we all know, as the iPhone has evolved, the size of the applications has been increasing, and Apple has been increasing the download limit from the App Store if we use mobile data.
It may be that for many users this limitation may not make sense, especially in recent times in which data rates have been expanded, since the users themselves are aware at all times of the limitations they face with their rates of data. In addition, this limitation can become a problem if we have the need to download an application yes or yes, something that Apple has not taken into account at any time, since it could add an option within the menus to eliminate that limitation at the request of the user.
