There is a new AAA standard in corporate America: the one-two-three from Apple, Alphabet, and Amazon. For the fourth time, our list of 50 All-Stars of the World's Most Admired Companies is led by a trio of tech giants who are under 40 years old. They do so on top of a class of blue chips and even younger tech stalwarts like Facebook (No. 14), Salesforce (No. 34) and Netflix, which return to the Top 50 at an impressive No. 19. They have been joined newcomers like Visa and Publix, debuting at positions 47 and 49.
In this list the 1.000 largest companies in the United States according to the benefits obtained and other 500 from outside of the North American country that have reached or exceeded 10.000 billion dollars. Fortune associates who conducted the study interviewed executives, directors and analysts to rate companies within their own industry and on nine criteria, including investment value and social responsibility.
Apple achieved a score of 8.6, beating Alphabet by 4 tenths, which achieved a score of 8.2. It is important to mention that this year the company directed by Tim Cook was the first in each and every one of the criteria reputation on which the study was based, unlike other years in which it yielded one or more criteria.
