Apple's relationship with the Indian government is giving a lot to talk about. Last May, Apple visited the country and met with the Indian prime minister, to try to get closer positions and that the Cupertino-based company could open its first stores in the country. But despite receiving the go-ahead, the prime minister informed him of a non-negotiable condition that forced him to have to sell domestically manufactured products, exactly 30% of the total catalog. This decision was not expected by Apple and presented a document to try to avoid this law that affects all foreign companies that want to open their own stores in the country.

Initially, as leaked from the government of India, this resource had a good chance of prospering thanks to expansion plans in India to which the Cupertino-based company had committed. The first of them, the creation of an application development center, has little to do, since the company has just reached an agreement to rent the ideal facilities for this purpose.

Finally, the country's finance minister, has just officially ratified Apple's proposal not to be forced to lose products manufactured in the country, at least in the first three years. By bypassing this requirement, the Indian government gives a free pass for any company that sells its own electronic devices to bypass this initial limitation, although at the moment both Microsoft and Samsung are selling their products through authorized resellers and have no plans to expand in the country. Microsoft, Cisco and other Silicon Valley companies have had research facilities in India for several years, one of the countries that will eventually become the new China.
