Apple releases iOS 11.2 and watchOS 4.2 Beta 1 for developers

When we are still waiting for Apple to launch iOS 11.1 that will bring us important news such as the return of 3D Touch for multitasking and the Reachability function again functional as in iOS 10, Apple goes and launches a first Beta of the next version, iOS 11.2, in addition to the corresponding one of watchOS 4.2. These first Betas still available only for developers are now ready to download.

We do not know completely what news the two new versions will spoil us, but We are already downloading them on our iPhone and Apple Watch to tell you first-hand what is all they include. Now that the iPhone X is around the corner, Appel could unlock functions that were waiting for its latest terminal to go on sale.

There are still functions that Apple was expected to launch in the final version of iOS 11.1 and that have not been enabled in any of the Betas that we have been able to test so far: Messages in iCloud and Apple Pay Cash. We do not rule out that Apple ends up adding these functions in the public version that it launches between today and tomorrow (predictably), but at the moment there is no trace even in the Beta 1 of iOS 11.2, so it seems unlikely that we will end up seeing these news in the immediate future.

For now, the only thing that we have found worthy of highlighting is that the wallpapers that until now were exclusive to the new iPhone 8, 8 Plus and X are already present on all devices in this Beta of iOS 11.2. Other stability and battery performance improvements are yet to be seen. iOS 11.1 has meant for many the return of an acceptable battery, after many problems in the previous versions. We will see if iOS 11.2 goes a little further and finally users have a stable version with an autonomy that everyone likes.

I have put iOS 11.2 on my iphone 5s and it has slightly improved my battery performance, but according to my taste it is not acceptable yet.
