Apple releases iOS 12.4 for iPhone, iPad and HomePod

Afternoon of updates at Apple with the launch of new versions for all its platforms, even for devices already discontinued. One of them has been iOS 12.4 for iPhone, iPad and even for the HomePod. This new version is now ready to download on our devices.

Although in the previous Betas there were no substantial changes, this new official version it does bring interesting news in addition to the solution to some detected bugs. We tell you about them below.

What's new in iOS 12.4

One of the novelties that has surprised the most in this new update has been a new migration utility that allows you to transfer content from one iPhone to another wirelessly during the new device setup process. It is ideal for when you acquire a new device and do not want to lose the content of the old one.

In addition, there are also improvements to the News application, which we remember now allows subscription to magazines, although at the moment it is not available in Spain or in other Spanish-speaking countries. Of what there is no trace is Apple Card, Apple card which is supposed to be launched with iOS 12.4 this summer, but we do not know anything about it beyond its presentation a few months ago.

HomePod 12.4

In addition to the version for iPhone and iPad, Apple has released an update to the same version for the HomePod. The Apple speaker will soon be available to buy in Japan and Taiwan, and this new version prepares this launch, without other important news that have been detected so far. The update on the HomePod is automatic, although if you want to do it manually you can force it from the Home application, within your home Settings.
