Apple Launches New Unity Lights Sphere to Support Racial Equity and Justice

One of the things that we like the most about the Apple Watch are the spheres, the possibility of wearing a new watch every day, the possibility of personality, everything that surrounds the Apple Watch. There are dials common to all watches, exclusive to new models, and even exclusive to Nike and Hermès models. They all work perfectly, and this may be the reason why Apple never opened the gallery of spheres to third parties. However, sometimes they surprise us from Cupertino by launching spheres without prior notice... Now, have just launched the new Unity Lights, the new sphere of the Racial Equity and Justice initiative. Keep reading that we give you all the details.

Just a year ago with watchOS 7.3 arrived the Unity sphere for this same reason of support for Equity and Racial Justice, a sphere that also came along with a commemorative strap. Today, Apple surprises us by redesigning the commemorative strap and dial, in fact, has launched a notification to all Apple Watch users to try this new sphere. An "analog" dial that for the first time changes the design of the classic sphere of needles making them act as neons that show the background of the sphere with the colors of the Pan-American flag. By the way, you can download directly through the gallery of spheres of your Apple Watch.

Apple just released a special edition Apple Watch Black Unity Braided Solo Loop and matching Unity Lights watch face inspired by Afrofuturism, a philosophy that explores the black experience through a narrative of science, technology and self-empowerment. As part of this launch, Apple is supporting organizations focused on promoting inclusion in science and technology for communities of color through its Racial Equity and Justice Initiative.

Designed by members and allies of Apple's black creative community to celebrate black history and culture, the Apple Watch Black Unity Braided Solo Loop and matching Unity Lights watch celebrate generations of Black Americans in the African diaspora. This design symbolizes a communal belief in the need for a more equitable world. The vibrant red and green colors of the Pan-African flag appear as dappled lights on the black band.

The Solo Loop Black Unity strap is spectacular… A belt inspired by afrofuturism and that symbolizes the need for a fairer world. Made of recycled polyester (with more than 16000 filaments), it has a black with green and red flecks. Perfect to combine with the new Unity Lights sphere. It is priced at 99 euros and you already have it available in the Apple Store.
