Apple releases tvOS 9.1 with Siri enhancements (and others to discover)

tv-os-9.1

At the same time as OS X El Capitan 10.11.2 and iOS 9.2, Apple has released tvOS 9.1. In the absence of a list of changes, we cannot know what news this new version of the operating system of Apple's set-top box includes, but it was already known that with this version we can ask Siri to find music on Apple Music. tvOS 9.1 is the second update to be released for the fourth generation Apple TV, the first (in theory) of importance since it went on sale at the end of October.

This update is intended for troubleshoot that we have reported users. It also includes network improvements, something that many users had complained about. Perhaps this will fix some crash issues when using AirPlay from an iOS device. On the other hand, it seems that the scrolling, something that was quite necessary because the movements with the Siri Remote were not as precise as one would expect.

If we have it configured that way, our Apple TV will update automatically. If not, we can go to Settings / System / Software Updates and do it manually. Depending on how saturated Apple's servers are, it will take more or less but, in my case, it seems that it will not take long.

If you still can't see the update, be patient. Many users are reporting that they cannot update because the software update is not available, but it is normal. Sometimes, the updates do not appear until after half an hour the time of the launch of the new version, which in Spain would be 19:30. If you have a fourth generation Apple TV and have been able to update, do not hesitate to comment on the news that you are discovering. Have you noticed any notable improvement?
