It took us a bit by surprise. Apple has launched about 19pm today, Monday watchOS 3.1, tvOS 10.0.1 and macOS Sierra 10.12.1, which are from today the latest versions of the operating systems of the Apple Watch, Apple TV 4 and Apple computers respectively. The updates are now available from their usual channels, which is the Watch application for the watch, from the fourth generation Apple TV settings and the Mac App Store.
Unlike iOS 10.1, which we remember that it comes with the main novelty of portrait mode on the iPhone 7 Plus, neither watchOS 3.1, nor tvOS 10.0.1 nor macOS Sierra come with outstanding news. All three versions versions arrive with minor fixes, but it seems that one of the three updates is more important than the others. It is watchOS 3.1, a version that changes the first decimal perhaps because it has more work inside than the latest version of the Apple TV 4 or macOS operating system.
watchOS 3.1 improves the autonomy of the Apple Watch
There are times when we say that a new version does not include outstanding news but that it comes with a very important novelty. This is the case of watchOS 3.1: some users who tested the betas claim that the autonomy of the Apple Watch improves considerably with the new version, which is sure to please users who do not usually make it to the end of the day without charging their watch. The following new features are also included:
- New option to replay the bubble and wallpaper effects in Messages.
- Message effects can be played back with reduced motion.
- Fixed an issue that could cause the timer timeout notification to display twice.
- Fixed an issue that could prevent Apple Watch Series 2 from fully charging.
- Fixed an issue that could cause activity rings to disappear from the watch face.
- Fixed an issue that prevented Force Touch options from appearing in some third-party apps.
The most outstanding novelty of macOS 10.12.1 is that it includes a smart album in the Photos application, where the photos in depth of the iPhone 7 will appear.
