Apple, Laurene Powell Jobs and Leonardo DiCaprio Launch America's Foof Fund in Response to the Coronavirus Crisis

We continue to live a rare episode in history, nobody could imagine that this year 2020 was going to start this way, but little by little we will get out of it. There are many efforts we are making in the fight against Coronavirus, efforts at the individual level, at the political level, and at the business level. Apple has just joined an initiative in the United States, it is called America's Food Fund and it tries to make sure that no one is short of food. After the jump we will tell you more about this new initiative by the Cupertino guys.

Apple has teamed up with Leonardo DiCaprio and Laurene Powel Jobs (Steve Jobs's widow) to fight hunger during these difficult days. And it is very good to confine yourself at home to avoid a spread of the virus, but the problem is when you do not have a home or do not have resources to at least feed yourself. It raised through this America's Food Fund will go to World Central Kitchen (created by Spanish chef José Andrés), and to Feeding America. This is what Tim Cook was saying on twitter:

No one can be well if they are not well nourished, and we can only overcome this crisis by ensuring that each person has the essentials they need to care for themselves, their families and the vulnerable people in their lives.

World Central Kitchen and Feeding America do a heroic job, and if there is any lesson in this time that we must spend apart, it is that we are stronger and more resilient when we support each other.

On the latest episode of #OprahTalks COVID-19, Oprah talks with Chef José Andrés, founder of World Central Kitchen, and Claire Babineaux-Fontenot, CEO of Feeding America, about the launch of America's Food Fund.

The fund started with $ 12 million through donations from Apple and the other founders, and are close to reaching $ 3 million more thanks to private donations. A beautiful initiative with which you can contribute to improve people's lives in these difficult times.
