Apple maps consume less data than Google maps

To date, Apple's maps have only garnered bad reviews compared to Google Maps, present on iPhones, iPods Touch and iPads up to iOS 5. Today the Onavo firm breaks a spear in favor of the iOS navigation system 6.0. According to a study carried out by this company, Apple maps consume 80% less data than Google's.

Therefore, if we do not want to exceed our contracted data plan, the apple maps will be a good solution as a GPS navigator.

From Onavo they carried out the same address and city searches In both systems: Apple maps consumed an average of 271 KB per result, while Google Maps consumed 1,3 MB per search. This shows that, in terms of data consumption, Apple's maps are more efficient than Google's.

More information- Street View will come to the iOS web application

It is logical that they consume 80% less data traffic. They simply have 80% less information than Google maps.

    If that…….

People are thinking about the maps, I have tried them and they are much better than what is said out there, at least in my city. What is not said at all is the battery, which is nevertheless much worse and more problematic than the maps. Prepare the wallets to buy cables to charge the battery.

As always everything is taken to extremes ... The Apple Maps APP is quite good, the voice navigation is great, and the integration with SIRI works really well, in Madrid I have had 0 positioning problems, it has less info than gmaps ? Yes, but what is the problem, you have alternatives and over time we see an alternative equal to or even better than gmaps, I do not know why so much hype hurts, it seems that you want there to only be an app without alternatives

You say it because you are in Madrid, that being a great city if they have implemented it fairly well. But do not leave your city or Barcelona because outside of those two it is a real chaos, I can assure you; D

The truth is that this is good news for those who have limited internet and I have the iPhone 5 factory unlock with T-Mobile from USA and I do not complain about the maps ... they work perfectly for me, much more elegant and faster than Google's. Now that Google releases its own app to the app store I'm sure they will be much better than the previous ones… CellularForSale.com
