Apple Music does not fail, 10 million active subscribers

Apple Music

There are few times that we have practically called the Apple Music journey a failure, all while Apple continued to bet and strong on its streaming music platform. But we have come across a new piece of news that seems to collapse everything that analysts had proclaimed during the months since its launch. Once again, sources that do not reveal their identity for security, have leaked that Apple Music has managed to surpass the barrier of ten million active subscribers after only six months of travel in the world of music in streaming. This is great news for Apple and great news for the users of this platform for what it entails the support of the users.

Been The Financial Times who has echoed this relevant information. In June of last year the first music streaming service arranged to deal with Spotify arrived in a halo of top secret and doubts, it was Apple Music, and it played with the advantage of being factory installed on all iOS devices as well as integration with the various Music and iTunes applications from the Apple range of devices. More than one hundred countries currently have the possibility of using Apple Music, and its users have reached the not inconsiderable figure of ten million paying subscribers, that is, not three-month trial users, which Equivalent to 50% of the total paid users available to Spotify, a service that has reigned for many years.

The curious thing about the data is that according to the analyst mark mulligan member of Media Investigation, if Apple Music continues on this upward trend, it will end up outperforming Spotify around the second half of 2017, just two years after its launch. The sale of new Apple devices and the fact that Spotify still does not update the price of its family subscriptions may have a lot to do with it, although times change.

The non-failure of Apple Music and Spotify numbers

Currently, the leading service continues to be Spotify with 2o million paying subscribers, and it seems that it will continue to be so, however, there are several occasions in which it has come to light that the free version of Spotify does not end up being profitable. that can lead at some point to completely return the platform to pay and would give you the added advantage point to Apple Music that you need to overcome it.

The important thing about the existence of both platforms and their competition is not the end result of the users, but the disjunction of piracy. On the other hand, Spotify is experiencing what we will call the «WhatsApp syndrome»Despite the fact that users find service improvements and possibilities in other competing services, as well as better prices, they continue to remain in the same environment to which they have become accustomed and with which they started, this is the key to why WhatsApp does not succumb to clients that offer better service objectively such as Telegram and Facebook Messenger.

As you well know, Apple Music costs € 9,99 per month for one user and € 14.99 for family subscription that allows you to use up to 6 Apple IDs simultaneously. Analysts appear to have turned the vane based on these Apple Music numbers, yet what is the end-user view? We want to know if you are more of Spotify or Apple Music and why. From my point of view, although Apple Music offers good content and a complete system, the interface of Spotify ends up being faster and easier to use.

Of which 9 million are people who do not know how to remove the automatic renewal or even know that they are subscribed.

I have a subscription to both services and I use both, although mostly Apple Music, I like the playlists that Spotify has more than the Apple Music recommendations and that is mostly the reason why I keep my account

Personally I prefer Spotify, the prices are better and it is a 100% streaming music service not like apple music, which gives you the music of the artists in half. If you want the latest songs by some artists or the most listened to, you have to go to the checkout. And honestly I'm tired of Apple taking its customers for jerks or something like that. In addition, it has a long way to go to deliver the good performance that Spotify offers. That here it is said that there are 10 million active subscribers is totally irrelevant and without contrast. Why, what percentage of those subscribers belong to people outside the trial period? Let's bear in mind that countries like China or India came much later and they are super populated countries with more than one billion inhabitants. Not to say that no one has ever given official data on that amount. Apple is very hypocritical and likes to brag very much and if it has not done it with the Apple Watch and Apple Music it is for something ... that they have not had the performance they expected ..., which I'm sorry for. I don't like being part of this speculation bubble that the mobile or gadget market in general is turning into.
