Apple Music now available on the Amazon Echo

It was completely unexpected news a few days ago: Apple would bring its music service to the Amazon Echo before the end of the year. Shortly after we knew that it would be in the week of December 17, but it seems that Amazon is in a hurry and Apple Music is already available on Amazon speakers, although for now only in the United States.

Apple Music desk thus being an exclusive of the HomePod, the only smart speaker that until today allowed to have Apple Music integrated and to make requests through Siri. Starting today, Alexa will be able to play music from Apple Music on the Amazon Echo, and it does it perfectly integrated, like Amazon Music.

A few days before the arrival period of Apple Music to the Amazon Echos began, Apple's music service can already be configured through the Alexa application for iOS and Android. The first thing to do is connect the account in the Alexa application, and once linked you can configure it as a default music service, so all the musical requests you make to Alexa through your voice will be answered using Apple Music.

Apple Music integration is very good, according to those who have been able to test it (remember that at the time of writing this article it is only available in the United States). But there are some differences in what you can do with a HomePod and with an Amazon Echo. For example they say that you cannot play music added manually to the Music application, or add a song that is playing to your music library. What's more It's only available on Echo speakers, so you won't be able to use it, at least not yet, on speakers like Sonos, even though they already have Alexa built in. Hopefully it will soon spread to the rest of the countries.
